The Senior Building Surveyor Role
As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of professional services including:

Inspecting and advising on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of commercial buildings.

Preparing detailed reports, schedules of works, and specifications.

Leading refurbishment and reinstatement projects using recognised building contracts.

Acting as Lead Consultant or Project Manager on higher-value schemes.

Advising on and applying statutory legislation including Building Regulations, CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act, and Party Wall matters.

Managing and negotiating dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants.

Supporting and mentoring APC candidates.

Playing an active role in business development, representing the consultancy and securing future work.

Understanding and interpreting legal documents including leases and development agreements.

The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have
Qualifications:

MRICS Accredited (Essential)
Knowledge and Experience:
-
A strong technical understanding of building pathology and contract administration.

Experience working across sectors, particularly commercial properties.

Comfortable managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and health & safety.
-
Sound report writing and negotiation skills.

Insurance reinstatement and defect diagnosis experience (preferred).
