Fire Risk Assessor
Overview
An established fire and building safety consultancy is seeking a diligent Fire Risk Assessor to join their expanding team across Yorkshire.
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will cover sites across Yorkshire, working with housing associations, local authorities, managing agents, and commercial clients to ensure full fire safety compliance in line with current legislation.
The Fire Risk Assessor’s Role
The Fire Risk Assessor will be responsible for carrying out Type 1-4 fire risk assessments on a range of residential and commercial properties, primarily low to medium-rise buildings with occasional complex structures.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough site inspections and FRA surveys

Producing clear, detailed fire risk assessment reports

Advising clients on remedial actions, fire safety policies, and evacuation plans

Liaising with fire services, building managers, and contractors

Staying up to date with current fire legislation and best practice guidance
The Fire Risk Assessor
-
Minimum 2 years’ in a Fire Risk role
-
Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFSM, FPA, or equivalent)

Up-to-date knowledge of PAS 79 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
-
Comfortable working independently and managing own workload

Strong written reporting and communication skills

Based in Yorkshire with a full UK driving licence
