A well-established property and construction consultancy is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their expert team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior-level mechanical engineer to step into a leadership role, managing M&E projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, and hospitality. While the company has an established M&E team in London, they are now looking to expand their presence in the North, bringing in a dedicated professional to service existing workloads while driving the growth and development of M&E services in the region and beyond.

The Mechanical Engineer’s role

As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing M&E consultancy services, ensuring project success from inception to completion. You will play a pivotal role in leading project teams, supporting technical delivery, and maintaining client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership on mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects.
  • Overseeing M&E design and consultancy services
  • Managing project teams and liaising with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conducting site inspections and technical reviews.
  • Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the M&E division.

The Mechanical Engineer

The ideal Mechanical Engineer will join at an Associate Director level and have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
  • Extensive experience in M&E consultancy, with a strong mechanical bias.
  • A proven track record in leading and delivering building services projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, and hospitality.
  • Strong leadership, client management, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a consultancy environment.
