A prestigious multi-discipline property and construction consultancy group is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer. This firm delivers professional services to public and private sector developers and housebuilders, with a focus on innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a range of sectors, from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and codes while supporting junior team members.
  • Support the delivery of project work and track evolving project milestones and budgets.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations and legislation.
  • Chartered or on the path to Chartership with a relevant institute.
  • Develop fire strategies and assess fire-related risks in projects, collaborating to mitigate risks where possible.
  • Review and comment on the quality of fire safety installations.
  • Undertake tenders for new work and develop client relationships to foster potential work opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, participate in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.
  • Support and develop junior team members, acting as a technical reviewer on project submissions.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering, or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering (candidates with different backgrounds also considered).
  • Experience in fire engineering roles, including positions outside of consultancy.
  • Strong experience working with multiple fire standards, including but not limited to BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, and EN45545.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering fire strategies.
  • Fire modelling experience is beneficial.
  • Working towards chartered fire engineer status.
  • Flexible approach to the working environment.
  • Willingness to travel is a positive advantage.
  • Good commercial awareness and customer focus.
